Other 1993 JDM 3sgte will only run with afm unplugged?? [Archive] - Toyota MR2 Message Board

Hello I have a 1991 na mr2 that i recently have been swapping a 1993 jdm 3sgte into. Well the only way i can get the engine to run is with the afm unplugged. When the afm is unplugged it runs super rich and I can only use very light throttle or it dies. When the afm is plugged in it will start for a couple seconds then die. I tried once leaving the starter going after the engine starts and it ran awesome as long as the starter was going but as soon as i let of the key it dies... Any suggestions
