5S-FE MK2 Non-Turbo Engine, lock, ball, transmission, missing, no.1, adjust, hole, no.2, purpose

hello. my s54 transmission is missing the no.2 lock ball, it just has a hole there. whats the purpose of this 2nd lock ball? i know what the no.1 lock ball does and how to adjust it. thank you.
