What is the advantage of getting EGR block off plates? Other than that the engine bay looks less cluttered, is there a real purpose for these? What I understand is, the EGR system is designed to help cool the combustion chamber by recirculating exhaust gas back into the intake manifold. So is the EGR there to reduced detonation? If So, Why Get Rid Of It?
