ignitor or coil ? How to tell which is bad. [Archive] - Toyota MR2 Message Board

K, Managed to get my car to fail today (by powerhosing underneath and above).. It started to miss and eventually cut out. I strapped on my timing light to the main coil wire which runs to the distributor and sure enough it only flashed once in 10 seconds.. My question is how do I tell if it is my ignitor or my coil ? Is there a way to diagnose which is at fault ?
