no power at about 3k rpms [Archive] - Toyota MR2 Message Board

Hey guys..im new to the forum..wanted to introduce myself. Im about to pick up this 92 mr2 NA. The owner says it doesnt run, This is what happened. It ran for a fewdays fine. It then stopped running so he changed the fuel filter, and put new gas and he said it started back up but when he hits about 3k rpms, it sputters and then looses power. he said it might be the ECU or the fuel pump. I have not looked at it yet. Wht do you guys think?
