Gen 2 or Gen 3 help [Archive] - Toyota MR2 Message Board

I am going to get my car swapped this winter, and was dead set on getting the gen 3, but now I am starting to question it. Stock vs. Stock, the gen 3 is def. faster and has alot of improved features. but the more I research aftermarket parts, it seems that the bulk of them are for a gen 2. Being that I will not be keeping the motor stock, would it be to my benefit to get the gen 2, and spend the extra on internals etc. (I will be getting a 3076r for it)? I know the EGR is probably
