i live in Northern VA. and this may be a noob question but in the manual it says when changing oil in the winter months it says to use 5w 30. now my motor has over 214 000 miles on it and a friend told me that it is not necessary with that many miles to use 5w 30 in the winter because it should not have clearance issues any input and explanation would be appreciated.
