Cant get alternator belt on [Archive] - Toyota MR2 Message Board

My alternator belt shreded adn I went to auto zone and got a new one Part Number: 320K4 four ribs at 32 inches long. I undid the pivot bolt, loosened the retaining bolt and then undid the long tension bolt so I could pivot the alternator all the way forward. I pput the belt on the A/C side first and when I try to put it on the alternator it is still about 1/8 inch off from going on. Even if I pry it on is this the correct placement. the alternator would not move back at all. Also when I wa
