3rd gen 3sge tranny question? [Archive] - Toyota MR2 Message Board

so after reading all i can find on putting a 3rd gen 3sge into my 94 2, the only thing i cant figure out is should i use the tranny that is coming with my swap or should i use the one i have? i have read back and forth that the 3rd gen 3sge tranny has a different final drive ratio that makes it slower than a gen 2 even tho it has more power. the tranny i currently have is a 91 5sfe tranny with about 50,xxx miles on it (my 94 tranny died about 5 months ago) i would prefer to use the one comming
