I am looking to get into autocross and I have decided that an MKI gets you the most car for the money. I have narrowed it down to an 85 hardtop or an 89 SC. If my research is right the 85 would be the lightest MKI and would have a rear sway bar. The 89 SC would have the more powerful engine and a rear sway bar. What does everyone think about my model year choices? I am leaning towards the 85 because they seem to be about half the price or less of an 89 SC. I’m think about getting an 85 and
