- I am trying to track down what seems to be a short in my electrical system. The previous owner of the car said it was blowing the relays for the starter and alt. I replaced the engine and body harness but no luck. The car starts and runs great but while running or in the on position the power to the cluster goes out. I can get it to come back on if i move the key around a little bit, but this procedure also has the reverse effect. the car doesnt die or run different though i have only gone down
