Interior pieces not lining up [Archive] - Toyota MR2 Message Board

I was wondering if anyone has any diy fixes, or know if theres a reason why my shift surround plastic doesnt line up with the plastic surround for the ashtray/stereo/climate control. I have to admit i am missing the two screws that hold the ashtray base in. It just seems like there would be more connecting the two than two little plastic tabs. It did get better after i installed my stereo and fiddled with it. Guess i am just fishing for a better way than fiddling with it for however long
