Detailing your MR2, oxidation, scratches, light, buffer, spend, polisher, time, polishing, compound, foam, cotton, recommended, problem

I need to take the ol buffer to my car and get some scratches and light oxidation out before it becomes a problem. I have a buffer with a cotton and foam pad. I dont really want to cut into it, id rather see if i can spend the time with a light polisher to get out the oxidation and scratches. What would you use?
