I have searched though all of the forums and read a lot of them. I have tried several things mentioned and nothing seems to have resolved my problem. So here I go. I have a 1991 non turbo 5 speed. On occasion it will not start. It will crank no problem but will not fire. Then suddenly it will fire and sputter then backfire through the throttle body and smoke rolls out of the cold air intake. This only seems to occur when it has either rained, or snows as of late, or when it is really cold/damp
