- i have a 1991 non turbo with a 5 speed and when i shift to second gear it throws itself back to neutral i can downshift into second and keep it in if i hold it but as soon as i touch the throttle i jumps out i have replaced the cable mount brackets and clips and have gone as far as to disassemble the trans (all synchros and gears look great) and even change the trans and still have the same issue any ideas would be greatly appreciated
