5S-FE MK2 Non-Turbo Engine, reverse, shift, stuck, move, links, brother, wrong, loss, transmission, driveway, revved, higher, snow, matter, back, rpms, finally, unstuck, shifter

Ok so I was stuck in the snow and shift to reverse, I think I over revved reverse but I kept it no higher then 4k rpms. but when I was finally unstuck and back in my driveway, it wouldnt shift out of reverse. No matter what I do, it wont shift, the shifter is stuck in reverse, and when I had my brother try to shift while I tried to move the links on the transmission, it still wouldnt move. I am at a loss at what could be wrong. Thank you for any help.
