1990 JonO/RSe Short Shift kit issues. What year lever?

Well I tried to install my short shift kit I ordered from Twos. I ordered a kit for the 85-92 MR2. I tried to install everything IAW their instruction manual. However, I can not get the bracket on and so I emailed them. I was told I have a 93 MR2 shift lever and not a 91. David (From Twos) said that the 91/92 shift lever looks like number one in the photo below. Mine does not look like that at all and looks like number 2. My kit does not fit at all and I was wondering, what lever do I have?
