- just got my mr2 not to long ago and went to a mechanic to get my engine checked for oil leaks and found that the head gasket needs to be replaced, oil leaks coming from the timing cover, and to change the valve cover. the whole repair will cost about $1900!!! how much do these repairs usual cost? any one know a good mechanic or garage in the los angeles, cali area? thanks all!!
