5S-FE MK2 Non-Turbo Engine HELP!!!!!!!!

Ok i ave a 1991 toyota mr2 N/A (5sfe)! My shifter cable broke recently and i had my car parked for about a month, untill I got the cable! Well when I finally got the cable and installed it I took my MR on a drive and suddenly the check engine light came on! i checked the code and it is telling me its code 71! Does anyone know what that is?? Oh and another thing I noticed is that every time I turn my car on in the mornings (when it is cold) it throws lots of white smoke out! Any help is greatly
