I have an 86 MR2 for sale that I purchased in 2005. The person I purchased it from put some considerable time and effort into restoring the vehicle and removing rust. The vehicle ran great until recently. I believe the problem is with the transmission but I have neither the time, patience or funds to keep putting into the vehicle. The engine and transmission was replaced last summer with a rebuilt engine and transmission from a 87 MR2. The rebuilt engine has less that 5000 miles on it and
